The Georgetown & Allen Mountain Railroad is a fictional Class 1 railroad which runs somewhere in the American West. I have been a fan of mountain railroading for a long time. After reading Linn H. Wesscott's book about John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid Railroad I new what I wanted to do.

The Georgetown & Allen Mountain Railroad is modeled in N scale because I love long trains. N scale allows for prototypical station lengths, generous curve radii and realistic scenery. I've tried HO but I keep coming back to N.

There have been earlier versions of the G&AM but I'm hoping that this one will be the final edition. I started to build it on December 5th, 2011. This website was created to show the railroad as it progresses. I will post pictures of every phase of the layout being built, starting with an empty room.
